We were proud to have played a modest part in the critically acclaimed and internationally successful Belgian feature film Close.

The film was nominated for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards, held on March 12, 2023, in Los Angeles. While it did not take home the Oscar, Close received widespread recognition, including the Grand Prix at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, and went on to win numerous awards across the festival circuit.

Directed by Lukas Dhont, Close was praised for its sensitive portrayal of friendship, identity, and emotional distance, and became one of the most celebrated European films of the year.

Close is a tender and devastating coming-of-age drama by Belgian director Lukas Dhont, co-written with Angelo Tijssens. The film follows the emotional journey of two 13-year-old boys whose intense friendship is tested by external pressures, ultimately leading to tragedy.

The film premiered at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, where it won the prestigious Grand Prix, and went on to receive a nomination for Best International Feature Film at the 95th Academy Awards. It was distributed internationally by A24 and widely praised for its subtle performances, striking cinematography by Frank van den Eeden, and emotional resonance.
