AI is here to stay. In what form or capacity it will evolve remains to be seen, and the conversation will continue. What matters to us is how it is applied. We believe in a responsible, artist-driven use of AI. It is not a replacement for craft and artistry, nor a shortcut to generic output, but a tool to streamline specific stages within our pipeline.

AI has the potential to help generate high-quality variations quickly, but speed sometimes comes with reduced control. In that sense, the process is comparable to shooting multiple takes on set. Some work better than others. As in the editing room, the value lies in selecting, combining and refining the strongest material.

Experience, a trained eye and the expertise of VFX artists remain essential in understanding why a shot works, why it does not, and how to elevate it. At the same time, the organisational and production strength of a studio becomes even more important. AI aided outputs still require structure, supervision and integration within a broader workflow shaped and supported by planning, dependencies and technical (industry) standards.

Naturally, Planet X operates within strict security and confidentiality standards when AI is used. Where required, we work with controlled environments, including air-gapped systems when handling sensitive or talent-related material.
