For this film, we focused on a short final scene composed of intensively restored and colored archive material from 1944. Using techniques from the visual effects industry, the results are better concerning cleaning and sharpening than we are used to with regular restoration. In addition, the coloring process is a challenge from both a historical and technical point of view, but also has a major influence on the impact of the images.
The aim of this post-processing was to also reach young and future generations with 75-year-old footage to show a new perspective on images we've known all our lives.

It is 1948. Albert Konrad Gemmeker, who was commander of Camp Westerbork from July 1942 to 12 April 1945, is in prison awaiting trial. After numerous interrogations by detective Jan Schoenmaker, an unknown interrogator arrives. sitting opposite him: Jewish Holocaust survivor Mauritz Frankenhuis.
